I experimented with the backgrounds I used and found the Distress inks and oxides gave me the best results.

  1. I applied the Tim Holtz oxides inks and Distress Inks directly to a heavy weight white card stock. I used a mix of several dark colours until I was satisfied with the result, I dropped water onto the card and mopped up the excess and left it to dry.
  2. I embossed the card, and pushed out the moon stars and windows that are cut and then backed the windows and moon with a yellow card and the stars with silver glitter card. I glittered the sleigh and reindeers after going over the outline in a Sharpie pen. I also glittered the roof tops and chimneys of the houses.
  3. I Matted onto the colour card with 3D foam giving a narrow border to the left and right but flush to the top and bottom. This is because there is just enough room to get it onto the card blank.
  4. I arranged and glued the gold border onto the underside of the topper and align it onto the card blank. I attached a sentiment and lastly a toning infill. Love the new dies from Hobbybase, they are so easy to use and cut brilliantly.
  5. This was such an easy card to make and can be used with any paper and embossing folders. So easy to mix and match.

"I live in the North East and have been paper crafting for over 30 years. I love die cutting, stamping and inking, alcohol colouring, water colouring, cd crafting, calligraphy and brush lettering to name but a few. Over the years I have supplied many shops and post offices with my cards and also taught crafting. I now prefer a quieter life and make cards for my regular customers, family and friends."
